Information about the upcoming season: 

Please see below to find your child's age group. Age groups are based on birthdays. Players are allowed to play up in older age groups, but may not play down in younger age groups. Find your child's birthday month on the left and read over until you find their birth year. This indicates which age group they should be trying out for. 

Premier Club (Girls Only):  Premier Teams will travel out of state to some events.

Ages: 17s, 16s, 15s, 14s

Tournaments: 3 local, single-day tournaments, 3 overnight tournaments

Apparel: Two uniform jerseys, Surge T-shirt, Backpack

Parents are responsible for all hotel costs and supervision of players at events. Most tournaments are "Stay-to-Play" meaning we do not get to choose the hotel.

Tuition for Premier Teams: $2400

Travel Club (Girls): We will run multiple travel teams in each age group.

Ages: 12-17

Tournaments: These teams will not attend overnight tournaments, and will follow our more traditional route with four local tournaments close to Nassau County. 

Apparel: One uniform jersey, Surge T-shirt, Backpack

Tuition for Travel Club: $1500

Boys Travel Club: We typically run 1 or 2 teams in each age group.  Boys teams are sometimes larger and will split squad for tournaments.

Ages: 12-17

Tournaments: There are no overnight events with the boys team and no extensive travel.

Apparel: One uniform jersey, Surge T-shirt, Backpack

Tuition for Boys Teams: $1200

Middle School Program (Boys and Girls): This program is designed for those players who want to try travel volleyball and improve skills without a long term commitment. Teams will practice twice a week and play in scrimmages against other teams. The middle school program is a half year team.

*There is no tryout for this program.

Season 1: November 7, 2022- January 25, 2023

Season 2: January 18, 2022- April 2, 2023 

Tournaments: There is the possibility for 1 tournament at the end of each season.

Apparel: One uniform jersey

Tuition for Middle School Program: $600

We have two tentative locations for practices for the 22-23 Season.  Our primary location where most teams will practice will be LIU Post Pratt Center for Recreation. Practices there will be Monday and Wednesday nights. We have secondary locations in Oceanside NY where there are some practices.  Players may be offered teams that practice in either or both locations.

Premier Tryouts are first (overnight teams)!  If you do not want that level of commitment, please only attend the travel tryout. We will offer spots to premier players first. There will be an additional tryout for Travel level teams (local teams).

Players will tryout and be placed on teams based on ability and position.

We plan on running several teams in each age group.

We typically can honor friend requests on LOWER ABILITY TEAMS ONLY. We cannot move players up to higher teams in order to play with friends.

LI Surge Boys program will continue this season! 

Tuition Information. For local Travel teams: If you are offered a spot the deposit of $700 is due immediately. Two more installments of $400 and $400 will process on 11/1 and 1/1, respectively.  There is a $25 late penalty per week for missed payments. 

For Premier Club: If you are offered a spot on the Premier Team (more tournaments), a deposit of $800 is due immediately. Two more installments of $800 and $800 will process on 11/1 and 1/1, respectively. 

All tuitions include a uniform jersey, backpack, T-shirt and all costs related to training and coaching. If you are on a Premier Team that travels, each individual family will be responsible for their own travel costs.

Tryout cost is $75 per player  all dates for their age group.  Players may come to one or all tryout sessions.  If you do not make a premier team, the tryout cost can carry over to our club program. 

We are practicing COVID safety and for that reason these rules must be followed in order to help fight the spread of all germs and viruses:

If you have been, or think you have been exposed to Covid19, if you have or had a fever in the last 24 hours, if you have an upset stomach, a dry cough, chest congestion, or difficulty breathing, please do not come to the tryout. All Surge Staff including coaches will be in masks throughout the tryout. Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations will be available. 

1. Please do not congregate outside the practice facility. We will be checking in players quickly. Do not form a line, and do not enter the facility without first checking in.
2. Parents are asked not to come into the tryout facility. If there are special circumstances, please contact us beforehand. Parents should wear masks when checking in.
3. Water fountains are closed, please bring your own water. Do not share water with any other player.
4. Players are asked to wear masks when entering and exiting the building but may take them off once they enter the court to start play. Players are encouraged to wear masks when getting drinks or using the bathroom.
